Q: Using MBP ram in White MB

So I have a late 2011 MBP 17' and a white late 2009 MB.

The MBP has 8GB (2x4GB) RAM on 1333MHz

the MB has 4GB (2x2GB) RAM on 1066MHz.

I am upgrading my MBP with 16GB RAM, with 1333MHz speed.

What I am considering is that I might put the RAM's from my MBP to my MB.

My concern is that might it be some problem with it if I put faster RAM than what it has now? Or only the RAM speed will be reduced to 1066 as it does in normal PC's? I just dont want to throw out 8GB of RAM..

If the Late 2011 MacBook Pro includes 1333 MHz RAM and your MacBook only supports 1066 MHz, don't install it because your Mac won't be able to use it. It's unsupported for your MacBook. You can use the memory if you want to install 800 MHz RAM and your Mac supports 1066 MHz memory, for example, but not if the memory speed is faster than the speed that your MacBook supports
