my facetime on my mac will not connect with anyone. the other side can see me trying to facetime them but when they try to connect nothing on my side shows connection just keeps trying to ring them.

on my mac desktop, when i try to facetime anyone it doesn't connect. the screen shows that it is trying facetime them and on the other side says that my requests come up and when they try to answer by connecting it wont and on my side all it does it continously trys to ring them and then finally tells me to try again.HELP!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
