Skype on the ipad

Hi. I have an ipad 2 and I downloaded the Skype app. Every time someone video calls me we can both hear each other but about 10 seconds later my sound goes and I can't hear anything anyone says but they can hear me. I have called the connection tester and made sure the volume is up but pressing the home button twice and sliding to the right. Can anyone help me on why I have no sound?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1.2

Is this an issue with any other app or feature? What about with facetime? Is there sound when you play music and video?

Try this:

Make sure IOS is updated to latest version

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.

If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

Hi, still no such luck with Skype. When I put my ear to the speaker all I can hear is static. Unfortunately the people I talk to don't have iPads and use Skype on laptops and other tablets. I get sound when playing music and watching videos on youtube but I do seem to be having problems ever since updating to iOS 6.

If is the only app that is having issues with sound, and you've tried all of my suggestions above, then delete the app.
