on this website???
If you are talking about this website, once you have posted something, in the bottom right corner, there is a button which says edit. Press it and it will take you to a page where you can edit your answer. I dont know if you can delete your post but its lets you edit it 🙂
You cannot delete a comment, only a moderator can do that. You also cannot edit your comment if you are using a device running iOS and you are using Safari.
deggie,
Even my own comment? I wouldn't think of trying to get someone else's comments deleted. The thought never even occurred to me, except...now that I think about it, I do flag comments on YouTube when they are just too &%^*(^$#%^ vulgar or obscene
Even your own comment. There are filters in place that will change your obscene language (and not so obscene) to asterisks and if you say something that violates the Terms of Use someone will report your post to a moderator and it will be deleted.
zebragirl,
I see it now, in comments I have not yet posted. However, there's no such button on comments that have been posted. Too bad, because it's oftentimes only after you make your posting that you notice that you've use the wrong their/they're/there, or to/too, etc. Also, sometimes you just realize that what you have said misses the point or is just plain wrong.
You don't see an Edit button on the bottom right of your last comment? Should show Edit Like Reply.
deggie,
Yes, now that you mention it, my last posting does show "Edit," "Like" and "Reply" in the lower right-hand corner, but it doesn't in my original question. There, it only shows "I have this question, too" and "Reply".
Go up to your original post and look to the right in the box labeled "Actions". This is where the Edit button would have appeared but you only are allowed 15 minutes to edit your post.

deggie,
Well, although you and zebragirl have done your best to make an expert of me, it's a hopeless task. Even so, I learned a great deal and, because of it, I will be leaving many fewer errors of all kinds to posterity. Thanks to both of you.
Hi Niku,
The Edit button is available for a short time after you Add Reply. You have a few minutes to reconsider your post and edit. You also have the opportunity to add "Message was edited by:" and your changes (see Deggies post above) to clarify in case your post has already appeared and been read.
The opportunity is lost after a few minutes. Otherwise, your reply would not follow further replies and would become confusing.
Regards,
Ian.

Sorry, wrong reply.
Yes, it works!

This is getting too confusing. I am editing my own posts and failing to get my message across. Sorry. Previous post illustrates how to edit and replace a whole message with "Sorry, wrong reply."
