How can I delete magazines I have read from my iPad

I have a subscription to The News Yorker and I have several months worth of magazines that I have read on the Newstand. How can I delete the old magazines without screwing up my subscription? I am worried about loading my iPad with unnecessary things.

Hold down on the magazine icon until it wiggles then tap the X on the icon. Tap the home button when you are done deleting the magazines.

This will not screw up the subscription. You are merely deleting the issues from the iPad.
