Yes. If you haven't installed it yet, do so; a few of the boxes contain installers requiring Rosetta, which isn't available in 10.8.

About a year ago myself and others took a look at this particular myth. There never were any Office 2008 copies with PPC onstallers. However, the analysis addon is PPC and won't install.

If you have one please give the build number over so I may check.

Disk 2 of the Office Expressions (Pack), amongst the other addons, also used to be available as an download.

Apologies, it's called Microsoft Query for Excel, for connection to SQL databases, it is a PPC rather than Universal app. It was available for 2004 and 2008 (don't know if there is a version for 2011)

Please restate these two contradictory posts. What are you saying about Office 2008 and its possible inability to work without Rosetta in Lion or Mt. Lion?

Office 2008 installs and runs correctly on Lion and Mountain Lion, the Microsoft Query add on does not, is that clear enough?

Actually, not...

First, let's leave out your discussion of Microsoft Query, which is not a part of Office 2008, was never raised by the OP nor any of his responders and which only you raised and then dismissed for reasons that only you could comprehend...

So you continue to stand behind the accuracy of this statement:

About a year ago myself and others took a look at this particular myth. There never were any Office 2008 copies with PPC onstallers (sic).

I wonder who propogated "this particular myth" in the first place?

Current versions of Office 2008 are 13.3 (supports Exchange 2003) and 14.1 (supports Exchange 2007/10), I have heard of no plans to update either version for Lion, you'd have to ask Microsoft about that.

Both versions have a PPC installer so will not install on Lion but should run if installed prior to the Lion upgrade.

To tell which one you have: If your copy of Entourage is labelled Entourage EWS you have 14.1, all other apps are identical in either version.

Actually, the Query capability was never part of Office 2008. It's absence was one of the major criticisms when it was introduced.
