Real time monitoring using HDMI to an Macbook

Any way to use the Macbook as a real time HD monitor with an HDMI video in from a Sony HXR-MC2000 video camera?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Sony HXR-MC2000, Pentax K20D

It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

The 4,1 has a Firewire 400 port. If your camera has a FireWire out it could stream to your MacBook.

Unfortunately no. It has a USB port for file transfer, HDMI for real time HD video monitoring, and RCA jacks for real time standard definition monitoring.
