Macbook4.1: kernel panics when physically moved

Hi,

I'm on a white Macbook4.1 which has been experiencing recurrent kernel panics when it’s physically moved. This started a couple of mouths ago with the infamous ”beep, beep, beep” indicating a faulty RAM.

After removing the RAM I discovered one of the RAMs to be broken - the computer worked fine with one of the RAM in slot 0 (the one farthest away from the hard drive), although panicking when the computer is moved and with ”triple-beep” in slot 1. Using the second RAM resulted in ”triple-beep” in both slots.

So my first question is: Is there a need for Macbook4.1 to have a functioning RAM in slot 0 two work at all?

I bought a 2GB RAM and put it in the working slot just to have the same performance as before (used to have 2x1GB ram) and it works. The funny thing is that if I put the working 2GB RAM in slot 0 and the 1GB in slot 1 I’ll get a ”triple-beep”. But in reversed order, 1GB in 0 and 2GB in 1, I usually get no boot up but a sound from the optical drive repeating over and over, like it’s trying to load a disk. Some times I’ll get it to start up but crashes after just a couple of seconds.

So I’m wondering are these problems due to a malfunctioning logic board or is it something else?

Here’s the panic report:

Worth mentioning is that the computer can be moved without a panic if the lid is closed

Thanks for the help!
