How do you check/publish a site created in iWeb since there is no MobileMe?

Help! I just spent several days creating a website in iWeb, which I last used as a student 3 years ago. At that time you had the option to publish your website to a folder on your desktop, which you could then go into and open the index.html file to check it for accuracy etc. before publishing.

Now you only have the choice to use MobileMe, which oh yeah, doesn't exist anymore! Even when you click "No thanks", an alternative does not pop up.

Any advice would be much appreciated...

It is actually not that complicated. You need to get a "host" for your website and a domain name. There are many providers that you can choose from. If they're any good, they'll give you step by step instructions what to do and what settings to enter. Honestly, it is much easier than I thought.

I ended up using "MacHighway - http://www.machighway.com - They got me the domain name - http://socialstudiesisswell.net and the web hosting for 50% less than Mobile Me cost. The site publishes much faster than it did with Mobile Me too.

iWeb is not being updated by Apple any more, but it still works... and it's cheaper than buying another application that isn't as easy to use... and you don't have to learn another new program.
