for some reason i can't figure out how to sync the iPod to the new itunes... please help i have tried everything. i had to restore my iPod due to problems and now it won't sync or atleast i don't know how to please help...

Does iTunes recognize that it exists? If so, try a manual sync first and post back with results. Select "Summary" tab and look at the bottom right corner.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPodgo to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions. As you found out, there have been some changes from previous versions.
