Q: When I try to update iTunes it says "the iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later."

I am trying to updated iTunes on my PC so I can sync my songs onto my iPhone 5, but when I try to update iTunes it says "the iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later." My internet connection is fine and I've tried mutiple times to update it.

That one can sometimes be produced by LSP trouble:

I'd try the following document:

Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)
