Q: I bought a used imac and need to change administer password without the old password, any suggestions?

I need to change administer password on a used imac I just bought but dont have the old password , is there any way of doing this

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

What OSX version is it?

Did it come with install Discs?

Just as an FYI: was the 10.8 the original system on that Mac?

If not, resetting the password will be a minor problem; since the license for ML is not transferable if purchased from MAS, you will never be able to reinstall the OS as the license is tied to the Apple ID used to purchase it. If the seller did not wipe the drive and reinstall the original system, you are - without any fault of yours - in effect, running a pirated copy of the OS.
