Using iCloud.com on an iPad browser

I have an icloud.com account with a different Apple ID than my regular ID. That was done purposely for several reasons; I also did not want to associate it with Mail app or anything else (also purposely for several reasons). So, I normally access my icloud mail via a browser window on my iMac - no problem.

This morning, I was somewhere and tried to access my icloud account on my iPad. I have icloud set up under the Settings but have never used it on the iPad. I tried to access icloud by opening Atomic Lite and Safari and typing in icloud.com. Instead of a login window, all I can get is the "iCloud" page with these options:

Set up iCloud on this device

Install find my iPhone

Install find my friends

Clicking on set up leads me through instructions of how to set up an account - which is absurd, since it is already set up. I've enabled Mail in the Cloud settings.

Can anyone help with whatever settings I need to change to be able to access icloud via the web. Thanks.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), (OS X ML, 10.7.4, 10.6.8), 2.93 GHz

I have an iPad but no access to acess to a computer. You told Babowa that you didn't want to be onset but why do you want to go to the icloud online account when you can access everything on an iPad. That is correct EXCEPT I'm get junk mail (get rich quick, why haven't you answered, how to make money on a smart phone etc.). I would like to access mail rules and sent every one of these to the "Trash". I don't want to unsubscribe because I don't want them to know I got the email. But I don't want to have to delete 4-5 emails every day.

know this is an old thread, but would like to row in.

Main reason to be able to access : On a night out, my iPhone went dead. Needed to access my contacts to let a friend know where I was going to be. Borrowed friends iPhone and tried to login, but could not. I don't think he would have been happy for me to setup my iCloud account on his phone, just to get 1 number. In the end, I had to borrow a Samsung to do this. The shame !!!!!

I left feedback to Apple and encourage others to do the same. A simple link at the bottom to "view full version" would be enough.

Its very narrow thinking from Apple to think that someone might not want to access the site from an iOS Browser.

I was Googling this problem and came across this thread. The reason I wanted to access iCloud.com was to set up a customised repeat calendar entry of 'every 4 weeks on a Monday' which can only be done through iCloud.com. After firing up my pc to do this, I thought there must be another way without having to rely on a pc - and there is.

I have the excellent Puffin browser, which I bought for viewing flash content on my iPad. I have just discovered that it also allows me access iCloud.com too, and requires no selection of special settings - simply type in icloud.com in to the address bar. Thanks to the poster above for leading me in that direction. The Adblock browser doesn't work for this.

I don't use iCloud although I do have an account. However, I just tried it on my iPad using my browser (Atomic Lite) and was met with the iCloud setup screen shown above (which is what I'd expect since I had never tried to access it with my iPad). So I have no idea why you cannot access iCloud and suggest that you post a new question in the iPad forum rather than resurrecting a three year old thread.

Thanks, I accessed it with Atomic Lite because a) that is the iPad browser I use as I prefer not to use Safari with its limited capabilities and b) I really do not want to access iCloud as I have no intention of ever using it/syncing/putting any info there. I established a non-associated ID there just to test it when it became available - since then, it has become superfluous and I only sign in once a month to get rid of any spam emails. There is absolutely nothing stored/synced there, thank goodness.

FWIW, I just now launched Safari and tried it - got to the same page as I did with Atomic Lite; it just took longer.

So, I still do not know why Brewser cannot access it.

The basic reason that you can't log into iCloud.com on the iPad is because you really don't need to.

Well I really needed to just yesterday. On a long car journey with friends I couldn't find my iPhone and thought I might have left it behind where we'd been staying. The phone was on silent, so calling it didn't help, and the house was now empty anyway. With an iPad and a Android tablet in the car (neither of them mine), I thought I could go online, sign in to iCloud.com and use the Find My Phone feature. But I couldn't, for the all the reasons listed in earlier posts. Spitefully, Apple won't even let you near iCloud.com on an Android tablet. This is beyond unhelpful; it is just plain obstructive.

In the end we found my phone underneath the cat's basket in the car, no thanks to Apple.
