I just upgraded from my Canon 5D mark ii to the 5D mark iii and I ran into my first snag. I have the camera settings to RAW like I always shoot, but when I transfer my pictures to Aperture on my laptop the thumbnails load on the bottom, but in the main browser and full view the picture just appears as a maroon box with "Unsupported Image Format" in the center. But it is fine on my Aperture 2 on my iMac. Has anybody else had this issue?

Aperture 2, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

See the Technical Specifications Raw Support page:

Apple - Aperture - Technical Specifications - RAW Support

The Raw Support for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III** is built into Aperture 3, as the Footnote says: ** Requires Aperture 3 or later.

Try to install the "Raw Compatibility Update 3.12" -this supports your new camera: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1513: This update is compatible with MacOS X 10.6.8, but I am not sure, if you can use it with Aperture 2.
