since the IOS 6.1.2 update, my battery runs low... fast. how do I fix?

I did the update and my battery life seems to run low fast. I restored the phone and started all over again. It is the same... battery life is not lasting and my phone is hot to the touch.

How do I fix this? I'm constantly having to charge my phone and I am concerned my battery is going to die or blow up!

Please help!
