Hello specialists, my iphone 5 died yesterday and would not show any sign of life at all, no charging signs and no displays or anything. i've tried charging it for a few hours with hopes for it to spring back to life but still no sign. Help please!!! it's on the latest firmware, and it was working perfectly fine till the battery ran out yesterday. Thank you

Plug it in to mains power for at least 15 minutes.
If it doesn't automatically come on, try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

This is called Deep Discharge. Unfortunately, it is really bad for your phone's battery. I just did some research and apparently you need to replace the entire battery.
It has been charging for a day now and still no sign of life, blank screen and no charging symbol. any other suggestions?
Did you try the 2nd half of my post, i.e. the reset?
