Apr 27, 2013 12:23 PM in response to kmac1203by bogi999,Hi there,
i think i found the issue.
It depends on an Update in the Mobile Device Support.
First, i uninstalled iTunes.
Then i "downgraded" my ITunes to 11.0.0.163 (this version i found in my software library on my NAS)
I unpacked the file an ther will be 6 files.
AppleApplicationSupport.msi
AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi
AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
iTunes64.msi
SetupAdmin.msi
I uninstall the ApplicationSupport via Programms and Funcions
After uninstall, i installed the ApplicationSupport.
Problem always there.
Then i uninstall the MobileDeviceSupport and installed the older one.
After this, the AppleTV's will be back in the Device List in iTunes.
But, why i always have to do "Apples" Job to resolve an Issue like this?
Just try, and give me some Feedback.
Bye

Apr 28, 2013 4:54 AM in response to kmac1203by bogi999,I found annother issue, after downgrading...
You CD/DVD-Drives disapear in the Explorer.
They will be marked in the device Manager,
You need to edit the following registry Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BF C1-08002BE10318}
If there will be a Key Named UpperFilters,
so just delete it.
After a rebbot the CD/DVD-Drives will work fine,but... Itunes will now start with an Error.
Reinstall "only" Itunes and this problem also will be solved.

May 5, 2013 11:37 AM in response to kmac1203by Andrew ADI,I have the same problem. Since iTunes upgraded, Apple TV will not show up in iTunes. My iPhone and iPod and my wiofe's iPhone show up when they are connected and iTunes is opened. I have re-set the Apple TV to factory settings on advice from the guys at the Apple store.
All software on Apple TV, Mac and iTunes is up to date.
Being back to Apple Store. They believe it is an issue with the last update on iTunes.
Please sort this Apple!

May 5, 2013 7:26 PM in response to navdawg1by navdawg1,I'm telling you, reboot the router, it works. Mine was up and all applications running except the apple TV. I rebooted it anyway and it works fine now.

May 12, 2013 7:11 AM in response to Andrew ADIby navdawg1,Since my first post, when on the wi-fi network, the 2 ATV gen 1's I am running will come up and then later drop off of iTunes. I can reboot the router and they might come up, then disappear. I then connected them both to the wired network, now everything is stable again. I already have etehrnet all over the house but this is probably not an option for some people. I now think it is in the TCP/IP network layer in the new iTunes that is changed. Only the geeks at apple will be able to figure it out. And, they really dont care about us gen 1 folks. The new ATV is about a marketing model where your content is on line and your iTunes is in the cloud. They want customers in the store buying stuff. That is reasonable for a retailer. I still believe they need to have a hard drive ATV. I do not leave my computer on. I do run ATV with personal slideshows all of the time. I think the marketeers have missed the boat on the merge of photos and music. With a few tweaks they could sell somthing that outputs from one ATV to multiple retna display picture frames. Talk about a sales opportunity. The long and short of it is maybe apple will fix the TCP/IP issue on the next release.
