Is there a known issue with the G5 Desktops (Pre-intel chips) burning up Hard drives?...
I bought A G5 a couple of years back I started noticing sometimes when I would start up the computer the computer would get locked up and the Fans would get quite loud. Eventually it wouldn't start and the harddrive went bad. I bought a brand new hard drive and it was working fine for a while... It worked well for about a year. Occasi onally it not start up and run the fans high, but I would manually power it off and re-start it and it usaully came on. Then the last time it worked I powered it on and walked away... when I got back about an hour later the fans were running hard... I tried to power it up and it never started again. Its not a ram issue, its not a dust issue, there is plenty of ventilation and the machine is clean... I have found a lot of other people posting similar stuff and they don't seem to be able to solve this propblem.
