Q: how do I check the battery life of my ipad 2?

Completely charge it and then play a ten hour video (you can find them on YouTube) just let that run over night and when it shuts down recharge it a little, you then can see how long it was in use since the last full recharge. Ten hours is normal.

If u really think that your iPad battery depletion is 50% or more, than you can take it to apple store and ask them to replace it(if its in warranty).
