Problems accessing ITunes via Apple TV

Hi I purchased my Apple TV today, I have been able to connect to the internet via WiFi but even though I have activated home sharing on Apple TV and in ITunes with my correct Apple ID, my MAC computer does not appear under 'computers' on my Apple TV? I have upgraded all software on my MAC and ITunes to the current version. Any suggestions on how I can get this working?
