MBP Will not wake properly from sleep-flash of screen and keyboard for a bit every few seconds.  Under guest account, wakes up just fine.  I also cannot unlock various padlocks to change settings in e.g. system prefs. security?  Any help, I'm dyin!

Not waking up from sleep-flashes lighted keyboard and screen, and I cannot unlock the padlocks in the system to change settings, look at keychain, etc.

    I would boot into the recovery partition and repair your hard disc and permissions.

    For the padlock problem, try trashing the system preferences prefs file (in ~/Library/Permissions) and restarting.

    it's ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist.

    Maybe that's part of the problem- maybe the Rohos thing hides it in some way.

    Maybe you'll have to make a new administrator account and delete the old one.

    Maybe this will help:

     

    If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal.
