i only hvae 3 authorised devices but itunes says I have 5 so I cannot add my new phone 5
I only show 3 devices to manage in my authorisatons but whne I add a new device it says I have 5.

You don't authorize devices, you authorize computers. Fact is, you can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit.
