How to transfer iwork 09 to my new iMac from macbook pro

I have a new imac and an old macbook pro I have transfered other apps and files using target mode, this is how I would prefer to trasfer everthing I dont want to use migration asst. because to much crap on old macbook. The other apps I simply just draged over from the app folder and droped in the new imac app folder and they worked. I transfer some file from iwork09 because I read some wherre on the internet that is what needed to be done and still iwork does not open . When I click on iwork09 folder in app folder (newimac) then i select pages or number or keynote a window pops up saying it cant open and check for updates ? ANy help would be great. I believe I installed origianlly on old macbook pro from a disc but dont have the disc now. HELP
