2011 mbp sudden problem; no apps run correctly, they open and after a few seconds they become unresponsive and refuse to do anything, it no longer charges and in the menu bar it has the battery with a cross through it, saying no batteries available.
as title says, running 10.8.2 mountain lion, just over a year old!
