Mac Mini 2012 display flicker issues

Can anyone tell me if they are having flicker issues using a Thunderbolt monitor? It's very annoying and I'm considering moving the Apple Display 24'' to another system and replace the current Mac Mini monitor with a Thunderbolt option.

Below is my current research findings on the issues I'm having.

There are SEVERAL issues going on. I have a Apple LED Display 24'' and an Acer 24'' monitor.

If you have the old Apple displays with the mini port Apple DOES HAVE a firmware update.

This is if your display is flickering. There IS NO easy way to see which firmware version you are using.

For those of you with the Mac Mini 2012 there is a KNOWN issue with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 HDMI driver supplied by Intel.

They have shipped Apple the fix and we should see it in the next version of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3.

I will try to post this as a seperate thread just in case anyone needs this info.

I also have a call into AppleCare. When I find more info I will post it here.

Kind regards,

Your welcome!

There was one fix that was Thunderbolt related in the form of a firmware patch.

The issue that impacts the Mac Mini 2012 HDMI port revolves around an error that requires a new video driver. That driver has to be hooked into the OS X kernal as I understood it we will not get that fix until 10.8.3.

So anyone using this Mac Mini 2012 with more than 8GB of RAM and has HDMI flicker issues that should get resolved in that update.
