Strange WIFI icon

It looks like a computer screen in the icon. What type on WiFi network did you connect to. It may of been what is called an Ad-Hoc network which is a Computer to Computer network, No Wireless access point just 2 or more computers connecting to one another.

One computer acts as the Wifi host sending out a SSID name. But most system identify these types of networks because they are the worst to connect to as they may try to hack your computer after you connect to them.

.. that looks like the computer to computer network connection.. it isn't AirDrop though..

It means you were connected to a computer-to-computer network. You should never trust such a network unless you're sure you know whose computer it is. In a public place, it's almost certain to be someone up to no good.
