Q: Focusrite Pro 40 set up

Does anyone know how to set up a Focusrite Sapphire Pro 40 in an iMac-downloaded driver but says firewire disconnected. This is a new imac and I am using the thunderbolt to firewire adapter and an 800/400 belkin cable. thanks muche

    Go into System Profiler and look in the hardware section. Might be in thunderbolt or might be firewire.

     

    Does your device show up?

     

    If not, there are a three items in the chain that need to be tested ...

     

    thunderbolt to fw adapter - does it work with any other device? A hard drive perhaps?

     

    fw 800 to 400 cable - see above.

     

    the sapphire pro - does it work on another computer

     

    Once you've done this testing, you should have an idea of where the problem lies.

    ok it seems that my problem is in the software somehow half way through updating it says " problem occured during firmware update" please restart-over and over again-guess I'll have to contact Focusrite-thanks a lot
