Does your device show up?
If not, there are a three items in the chain that need to be tested ...
thunderbolt to fw adapter - does it work with any other device? A hard drive perhaps?
fw 800 to 400 cable - see above.
the sapphire pro - does it work on another computer
Once you've done this testing, you should have an idea of where the problem lies.

Mar 7, 2013 2:47 PM in response to Studio Xby chuckerst,ok it seems that my problem is in the software somehow half way through updating it says " problem occured during firmware update" please restart-over and over again-guess I'll have to contact Focusrite-thanks a lot
