I have an ipod that is disabled. How can I enable it when the kids don't remember the password?

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.2

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
