Something is wrong with my Macbook battery settings
The battery dies without warning me it's almost over and it always shuts down, never goes to sleep.
I tried to find 'restart after power failure' on System Preferences, but it's not there.

So what does that mean?
Your battery does have some charge on it.
Try the instructions on this page:
No good, it still won't alert me when the battery is about to die and it always shuts down when it dies, it doesn't go to sleep like it should.
Automatic startup after power failure is in System Preferences / Energy Saver / Power Adapter.
By the way, what model Macbook and what OS?
Sorry, my Macbooks are on 10.7 and 10.8 where the Energy Saver options are a little different. I will see if I can find what Energy Saver looks like in 10.6.
Is the battery removable in your MB ?
