Hi emily,
Are you using iTunes 11? If so, make sure you have the "Show Sidebar" option on. Go to "View" at the top of the screen, and click on "Show Sidebar".
Cheers,
GB
It's a bit confusing since you posted this under iPad in the Enterprise, linked an article concerning how to find your Apple Serial Number, and showed your device as an iPod Nano....
Based on your question, I made the assumption that you were talking about iTunes on a computer....

Hi Gail - I can be very confusing - sorry! I have a lap top and have I Tunes on it. I had over 2,000 songs and all was well until a few days ago. All of a sudden, my account is there, but, no music, no playlists. I tried doing what you said, but, that area is grayed out (show sidebar) - I can't click on it. I am not savvy at all - but, never had a problem. I did buy an I Phone and see there is an icon for I tunes - do you think it has something to do with that? Thanks so much for your advice and patience! ELR
No (I mean, No - the iTunes icon on your phone isn't causing the problem with your computer), your iPhone does have an iTunes icon on it - that allows you to purchase music and other stuff from the iTunes store. It also lets you look at purchased items and makes them available for you to download directly from iTunes to your device.
But, back to the computer/iTunes issue. What type of computer are you running on? What version of iTunes are you running?
Cheers,
GB
I have a laptop toshiba satellite L25 S 119 - not sure if I am giving you the correct info. Also, not sure the version of itunes - how do I find that? Sorry, Gail, for being so vague!!! Thanks!
OK, to find out what version of iTunes you are running, you need to go to the top of the screen, and under File, you should see an "About". Click on that to see what version you are running.
Cheers,
GB
I did that and there isn't a "about" optoin to click on. 😟
Sorry - forgot it was Windows....
So, on the iTunes icon on your desktop, right-click on it, and then click on "Properties"....hopefully that will tell us what version you have. 🙂
GB
I right clicked on it - and it has "properties" - but, the only thing it says is Windows 95 - but nothing about the year or type of ITunes. Gail, thx so much for your help. Getting very late here - I appreciate all of your effort and help! hope I can get the tunes back some how. Take care and thanks again!
