iPad or iPod touch, which one to get?

I had to choose one Community, and I chose iPod touch. And I hope the answers though not biased towards iPod.

I am planning to have the first Apple product, and I limited my choices to iPod touch and iPad. Now, I am confused between those two.

What I mainly want is two things: A device to organize my life, like Clock, Alarm, Calender, Tasks, Notes, and any apps that help to organize things, and probably browsing the web. And a device, I can listen to music while I am in the bus, or running.

I have no interest in gaming or reading books from a screen. Money is not an issue.

Please, help me to choose. I highly appreciate you insights.

- The iPad and iPod touch are essentially the same except for the size. The following shows of of the differences

iOS 6: Which software features does my iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch support?

- If you type a lot the iPod is not recommended since it hard to type on the small screen but you can get a Bluetooth keyboard for both the iPod and iPad.

- The iPod is nice and small and easy to carry. I would say it all up to size. The iPad mini is a good compromise.

There is one item in that list that limits you: listen to music while I am in the bus, or running. The iPod will not be a success path for running and listening to music...awfully big for that. If you do not intend to do any book reading the the screen size is much less of an issue. The Touch will be even more portable than the iPad and can just be dropped in a pocket out of the way.

For your inteded usage, the iPod looks like a better solution. If you were going to do a lot of book or magazine reading, then I would have said the iPad.

Hi, I use an iPod Touch and like it very much. Just got a second one on Monday. The screen is great for reading. I'm 200 years old never had 20/20 vision. It works for me, I would like to get an iPad mini in the future if they ever get retina.

I love the size of the iPod Touch. So versatile for anything I do. Very portable and convenient.

You may like to go to an Apple Store and try them out for your needs. The iPad mini is very easy to see.

Good luck with your purchase!
