How can I get my G4 see my MacBook Pro on a network?

I have a new MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion networked with a Gigabit G4 running Tiger an network with the MacBook Pro via an ethernet connection through Airport Extreme. All the related hardware (Printers, Scanners, etc.) is networked and works flawlessly. On the MacBook Pro I can access all the files on the G4 when I changed the permissions on the G4. However I cannot get the G4 to access the files on the MacBook Pro. While I could move any files I want manually I would rather have direct access. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 8 GB memory 750 GB hard drive
