Crash after resume from sleep on Windows 8

When resuming from sleep my rMBP running Windows 8 x64 in Bootcamp crashes every time. I ran BlueScreenView to look at the mini dump left behind on Windows and it appears that it is the NVIDIA 314.07 drivers causing this:

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED0x1000007effffffff`c0000005fffff803`a4af9d92fffff880`037ee888fffff880`037ee0c0nvhda64v.sysnvhda64v.sys+868cx64ntoskrnl.exe+28ad92

Anyone else seeing this? I filed a bug report with NVIDIA as well.

I just had two BSOD today after a clean install of Windows 8 using the 10.8.3 Bootcamp Assistant. The only thing I did post install was update the Nvidia drivers to 314.22. I went to bed with Steam downloading some games and woke up to a crashed machine. It crashed a second time while trying to upload the error report to microsoft after a reboot. I've put together the following bug report using WhoCrashed.

I've removed the Nvidia HD Audio Driver for now and am considering rolling back to the stock version of the Bootcamp drivers for stability.

Can you post a link to the Nvidia bug report you filed?

Im my experience going back drivers of even reinstall windows doesnt work, this fix for this is the following.

Windows 8

  • Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options
  • in the selected power plan box click change box settings
  • Click change advanced settings
  • Scroll down to power buttons and lid
  • Expand Lid Close Action
  • Change both settings from Sleep to Hibernate

This takes a few seconds longer to start back up but it works flawlessly on all machines i done it on so far.

Now to fix my corrupted OS becuase of all the bluescreens 😟
