Mar 8, 2013 7:03 PM in response to Kevin Johnson1by Jan Hedlund,If both computers are connected via the built-in Ethernet switch of a router, and if there for some reason is a problem with file sharing, you may want to try transfers over the Internet instead. For a limited number of smaller files, email attachments would be one possibility.
Setting up web sharing under Mac OS 8.6 could perhaps be another way. This would allow you to access files on the old computer from a Mac OS X machine, using a normal web browser.
Yet another possibility could be FTP (either by letting an FTP client at the 8.6 machine push files, or by installing a small FTP server there).
