my ipod turns off when i unplug it

When my IPod is pluged into the charger, either the wall or computer, it works just fine. As soon as I unplug it from the adapter it not longer works. It just turns off. What might be going on? The IPod isnt that old and it hasnt been used that much. I have tried updating it and also restoring it to the factory settings!

If it is still under warranty try calling apple or taking it in. It might be a simple iOS issue but if you have restorred everything then that probably isn't it. It could be a faulty connection with the battery to the logic board which might be why it only works while plugged in. This is like how an older macbook could run while plugged in but the battery was not even in the machine. So best bet is to take it in or call to see if you can send it in for repair.
