Help with getting Microsoft Software operating

If it's part of Office 2004 or earlier, it needs to be upgraded or replaced with a product such as TextEdit, Pages, or OpenOffice.

What Mac OS X did you update from, and what version of MS Office are you using?
It was 2004 Microsoft
See what I wrote above. Office 2004 can't be gotten to work under 10.7 or 10.8 directly.

When Apple moved to Lion they dropped the contract for Rosetta that made legacy software run under Mac OS X. Since that time only MS Office 2008 and 2011 will run under Lion or Mountain Lion.
Can I download MS Office upgrade?
If your screenname were CHEAPO instead of Cheppo, I would suggest that you purchase Snow Leopard Server for $19.99 from the Apple Store and install it into either Parallels or VMWare Fusion (retail = $79) and be able to continue to run your Microsoft Office 2004.
