Q: External Editor and Export Preferences failing

I'm unable to set an External Photo Editor in the prefernces pane. When I hit the "Choose" button it greys out for a moment; nothing happens; and then it returns with no change. In addition, I'm not able to Export any photo - Original or Version.

Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The trouble-shooting steps were my first effort and made no difference at all.

I solved my own problem. It turns out my keychain was a mess. For reasons I don't understand it was HUGE. I repaired the keychain and now all is working as expected.

Go through the Apple-recommended trouble-shooting steps. At the least, run "repair database". My guess is that you'll end up having to delete your user prefs as well.
