Brand new iPad mini won't turn on

I just got a brand new iPad mini not even 24 hours ago. I've taken absolute perfect care of it and its been working fine, but I was just listening to music on it with the charger plugged in, and all of a sudden it just blacks out. I've tried everything including pressing the on/off and home buttons at the same time but nothing works. Please help!!!!!!!!

Try a reset:

Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

I literally did that for about 7 minutes and it didn't work. I am bawling my eyes out right now do you have any other ideas?

Try charging it for one hour and try reset again.

Try to reset while connected to a power source and see if that makes a difference
