Apple ID password disabled

I have been unable to download apps to my new iPhone 5 because each time I try to buy my password is rejected as disabled. I have followed the advice in other postings but none work. Password has now been changed several times, each new password works well on my MacBook Pro but not on the iPhone. Any clues would be much appreciated.

OK, do this: Go back to Settings>iTunes/App Store & sign out...do not sign back in. Now, go to Settings>iCloud...see if you get a prompt to "Edit". If you do, change your password here. Tap Done. Now, go back to Settings>iTunes/App store & sign in. See if things work now. If you don't get the prompt to "Edit" when going to iCloud, scroll down & delete the account, then set it up again using the correct password.
