Ever since i installed Mountain LIon I havw to force eject CDs and DVDs. That works OK but I shouldn 't have to do that. I have reset the PRAM and SMC but to not avial. I have restarted and reapired permikssions, and checked that the Disc is OK, but still have to forcve eject the CDs and DVDs. "Upgreded" ML from LIonm in which I had no prblem ejecting CDs or DVDs.
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Same problem. Logging out and in sometimes works.

Thanks, but it is not that the cd/dvd gets stuck it just will not eject withourt forcing the issue as in Force Eject and that works just fine. Tried everythinig that comes my way but nothing seems to work. Once and a great while the ejection buton/right click eject, or dragging to the trash works but then it doesn't and I have to force eject to get the cd/dvd out. It is a woderment to me for sure.
