This was purchased in Apr/May of 2012. Now, the battery does not seem to hold the charge anymore and the iPod will only work while plugged in. IT will say the battery is full and then the moment you unplug it, it will turn off and not come back on until plugged in again. Even while plugged in it will pause & powers on and off also.

If it's still under warranty I'd take it in to be evaluated. I have a 4th gen and yeah, the battery life has declined since iOS 5, but it shouldn't be that short.
