Can an iPod touch that has been Washed and Dried be fixed?

Help! I just found out my iPod touch 4th gen. got washed AND dried.... Is there any way it can be restored? It won't turn on. I put it in a bowl of rice.. Please help! It was in a case similar to an otter box. Not a waterproof case, though. Please help!!!!
