Why is my apple tv 3 movie download so slow? 2 hours to download a movie is not realistic. My Netflix HD 1080 downloads are in minutes,not hours.

Most likely your internet is too slow.
For near instant streaming AppleTV needs:
SD 2.5Mbps
720pHD 6 Mbps
1080pHD 8 Mbps
Fo to speedtest.net and see what your speed is.
AppleTV movies are fixed size/quality (check on iTunes to get a feel for the sizes).
Netflix by comparison adapts quality downwards when the stream is slower than required for best quality playback.
