Q: I can't open Final Pro X. It says "files are contaminated" and I can't seem to fix it. Please help! Thanks.

I can't open Final Cut Pro X and I'm working on a job with a looming deadline! It says "files are contaminated" and says to quit final cut and it will be restored and mended but that doesn't seem to fix it at all. Won't open. Please someone, anyone... help.  : (    Mo  thanks  : )

Oh I see!!!!!  One more question.    so do I drag the backup and place it over the the CurrentVersion ? is that how I replace it? I shouldn't click on CurrentVersion.fcpevent and erase it?

Actually I lied, I have one more question. you said the list would be longer if you had imported with proxy media as well. Why don't you? I thought it was good to import with proxy to make it easier and faster to edit?

Luckily, I've only had to do this once…and when I did, I just moved the backup file so it was at the same folder level (indent) control clicked on the current version and moved it t the trash (but not emptying until I got things working again). Then re-named the backup to be current version. Hope that's clear.

I don't use PR Proxy much, although I would in a heartbeat if my playback was too compromised. So I don't tend to create it. But I do usually create Optimized. In this case, I plan to transcode as needed from within FCP.

Thanks Luis, I'll never install it. Actually I did once I think and got rid of it. Hmmm, maybe it didn't fully disappear.
