If you build the list in a table you can do it.

Click the Table generator in the toolbar.

User uploaded file

Type you list in the frist column. In the inspector, click the "Edit Rows & Columns" button and select either Ascending or Descending.

You can also delete the unused columns and set the cell borders to none in the Inspector.

Chris,

Select the Text.

Format > Table > Convert Text to Table

Select a Cell in Table

Table Inspector, Table Tab

Edit Rows and Columns: Sort

Select cells with the list.

Format > Table > Convert Table to Text

This method will cost you any text formatting you had going. There's a better way that involves a third party Services Add-In. If you download, install and activate Devon Wordservice (Free), you will have an option in your Services menu. This method leaves your formatting in place.

PRAISE GOD! I have been looking for hours!!!! I could have alphabetized the dictionary by now!!!

Jerry, I see you post correct answers a lot, but unfortunately, in the other forum titles, I was unable to do as you suggested, because the selections were greyed out, or not even there.. (System Setting.... not even close to there!)

Thank you!
