no sound on I Pad3

I had sound suddenly disappear on my I pad. I tried all the tricks you had in the support, yet it is still not working. I found a video on you tube, telling me to turn down sound manually all the, then turn it back up (in sounds menu). It worked for the first time, though couple of hours later sound lost again and I cannot get it back.
