i just got a new ipod touch and would like to be able to sync my old and new ipods to the same itunes account but i would like different music, photos, apps etc on them.
iPod touch (3rd generation)
Just set up iTunes to only sync the checked/selected items, not the entire library/all the apps.
go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions.
When you connect one to iTunes you can create the profile for it by selecting which items you want synced under the categories in the main window. Do same for each one. What you choose need not be the same. Each sync profile and backup will be different as long as each one has a different device name like Touch 1 and Touch 2.
when i bought the new one yesterday they helped me set it up at the store and i wasn't sure (or clear) of what i wanted exactly. i didn't know what would happen when i got home and actually attached them to the computer. they both have the same name. i would like to change that. don't know how to do that
