Second disk cable?

Hello guys!

I have a MAC Mini 2011 Mid i5 2.3ghz

A1347 Seri no:C0*******XXX

I already changed my ram up to 8gigs

Already changed my hard drive up to 7200RPM

But still I'm not feeling like I'm using MAC.

I decided to buy a new SSD but I want to use SSD + my old hard drive.

2 drive is fit this body, also motherboard have 2 HDD conections.

But I only have 1 HDD cable.

I know there is 2 different HDD cable (upper/lower).

Which one I should buy? And what is order code?

I ask a lot of services in Turkey but some of them have no idea about 2 drives??

I couldn't find "definite answer"

Thanks and sorry my for my English.

Thanks @BDAqua

I saw this on ifixit before.

iFixit says part order no: 076-1391

I asked this number to Apple services but they give me another number.😐

I found a couple diffirent code on other web site or ebay.

I'm not sure which one I should buy.

Money is not problem but all this cable came from USA or Asia. I have to wait 15-30 days if I choose wrong cable, I have to wait again. 😠

076-1391 = Top Hard Drive Flex Cable for Mid 2011 Mac Mini / Server. This part is used for installing a second hard drive.

076-1413 = Top Hard Drive Flex Cable for Late 2012 Mac Mini / Server. This part is used for installing a second hard drive.

As far as I'm aware both cables are the same. I have the 076-1391 cable in a late 2012 Mini and it works fine.

Thanks Rafael.

This has to be much more easy!

There to many diffirent part code.

I did check my old mail again, Apple lady told me 076-1390

Also my MAC has 821-1346-A

In my reasearch;

076-1391 - Cable, Flex, Upper ----> (I think I need this)

076-1390 - Cable, Flex, Lower

Also I find this in alibaba.com (Chinese ebay i guess)

User uploaded file

Replacement for 076-1391

This look nice and long 😁

I think I will found a 076-1391 on ebay or local Apple Services.

Thanks

076-1390 = Bottom Flex Cable for original /factory installed Hard Drive that came in the Mid 2011 Mac Mini / Server when first bought.

You need the 076-1391 or the 076-1413 part.

I recommend you getting the iFixit kit BD-Aqua linked to earlier as it comes with everything you need to install the second hard drive. You can use this coupon code to get $5 off: FIXIT1012

If you don't get the kit remember you also need to buy a Mac Mini logic board removal tool and hard drive screws & grommets. And you will need T6 and T8 Torx screwdrivers and a spudger.

Hello,

I bought the iFixit kit to mount my SSD in (Lower position) in my New MacMini late 2012.

the sata flex cable was not adapted to put in the free SATA connector.(In my case the original disk was mounted on the SATA Upper connector !)

It was in fact the same as the upper (Original SATA flex connector)

There is no need to unmount de hole MacMini to install an SSD. The only thing you need to do is unmount de fan and the antena grid.! (only until step 11 on thisguide )

I found the SATA flex cable adapted to mount an SSD in the Mac Mini:

it is this part

076-1390 - Cable

Good luck !

Hello Sebastian,

I'm also in Turkey (Ankara). Having the same question as you in mind. Fitting a SSD in the Mini.

Did you manage to find a cable here in Turkey?

Sorry I do not speak Turkish.

My Mini is mid 2011 - cable no: 076-1391

If you found it it would be great to know where.

If you happen to have some knowledge about SSD:s and Mac to share, it would be most welcome.

I understand they have to have some specific properties. Something with heat?

Cheers

Hello Johan.

I couldn't find in Turkey.

I almost talk with all local services but people don't understand me. Some services told me this is imposible 🙂

Finaly I find a interested services person and I order 2 diffirent cable (I don't remember order code know) for second HDD.

Cable come but both are for first drive. Both are short cable so it didn't work.

I give up! now I'm using only 1 internal 120gb SSD and USB externall classic HDD.

Cheers!
