idk how the symbol just appears on the macbook pro how can i make that symbol appear on my top bar?

Your MacBook Pro needs to be newer than early 2011. Then follow the following instructions:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404

To make sure it shows up on your menu bar to go System Preferences>Displays and click on "Show mirroring..."
