I am stymied with my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.2 and iTunes 11. Every time I start iTunes, after a few seconds I get the spinning beach ball and have to force quite. I have update to the newest iTunes. Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem from today.
My MacBook Pro is running OSX 10.7.5.
Until yesterday the spinning beach ball appeared after
a few minutes, but starting from today only after 1-2 seconds.
After that the only thing I can do is to force iTunes to quit.
I'm thinking to reinstall iTunes, but I'm not sure it would help.
I have reinstalled ITunes several times, to no avail. I am still having this problem to the point where iTunes cannot be used. I am hopung that Apple is working on a fix, as I am running the latest OS and iTunes, frustrating.
